Nach fast drei Jahren Dauervermietung und zahlreichen Gästen hatten Apartment und Möbel stark gelitten und die Eigentümer:innen erkannten die Chance, im Zuge einer Renovierung mit einem Fokus auf Strapazierfähigkeit und Nachhaltigkeit der Materialien auch das Raumkonzept neu zu denken…..”

“Among the challenges of urban life, limited living space is one of the greatest hurdles. In bustling city districts like Berlin Kreuzberg, where the demand for housing is high, innovative living concepts are in demand. We have developed such a concept in the form of an 11-square-meter micro-apartment, with the goal of creating a modern and flexible living solution for the urban lifestyle.

Despite its small footprint, the apartment makes optimal use of the available space. This is made possible through custom-built installations that utilize every square centimeter to maximize storage and functionality. A key design element for making the most of the limited space is the versatile use and flexible repurposing of individual components. Certain pieces of furniture serve multiple functions: for example, the staircase not only provides access to the loft area but also functions as a workspace and dining area. The last three steps of the staircase are designed as a flexible stool that can be individually placed as needed…..”
